INDEPENDENCE

In accordance with section 97 (2) of the Constitution, the Director of Public Prosecutions shall not be subject to the direction or control of any other person or authority.

ODPP | Who we are and what we do...

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is a Public Office and the primary prosecution agency of Turks and Caicos Islands(TCI).  It is headed by a Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) who has the constitutional power and responsibility to prosecute all persons charged with criminal offences against any law and before all Courts in TCI. Under section 97 of the TCI Constitution, the DPP is also a constitutional institution protecting good governance.
